We know this for a fact because we’ve collaborated with many of them throughout the years. But this begs the question, how do you choose the service provider that is right for you? What should you look for when choosing a video producer?
Here are our top 5 things to look for when choosing a video producer.
Look for a team that’s:
1) ‘Been there, done that’.
Every project is unique. Keep your eyes peeled for a company with broad experience to handle all the aspects of your production. Look for experience in project planning. This gives you better assurance that your project will stay on-time, and on budget. Also, look for flexibility, aim for a vendor who can stay nimble on their toes and overcome the obstacles that may or may not (but usually) present themselves.
2) Passionate and hungry!
Passion is that elusive and nearly undefinable quality that all hiring managers are looking for. Listing the benefits of hiring a group of people who love what they do would make this post ridiculously long. Instead, let’s just choose one. Honesty. If you choose a team that is passionate about their work, you’ll get a team that will be honest with you. They won’t want you to put out work that doesn’t help your brand. But how can you tell if they’re passionate? Talk to them. Do they get excited when talking about past or future projects? Do ideas and possibilities flow easily? If they do, then you’ve got a potentially great team.
3) Brings out the creativity in you.
So often we hear that “I’m not creative, that’s why we’re hiring you”. Come on people, that’s just being lazy. The truth is everyone is creative. You just have to tap into it! Choosing a video producer properly will help this process along right from the offset. Don’t get me wrong, no one wants to be micromanaged, but we do want our clients to be emotionally vested in the experience.
